An original "mystery play" by Walter Wangerin Jr., Rachel Weeping for Her Children is written as an Epiphany performance, but is appropriate for any time of year. From the the writer's notes:
This is a full-length play. Perform it at home, then in other places. Take it on a tour. Although this reading/play has been designated for Epiphany, it may be played whenever the time or conflict or the state of our culture requires it—for example, when we are at war, or when the streets are places of danger (gangs killing gangs). It is a cautionary play.
For evaluation, please purchase the "Evaluation Script" below, which is the complete script but does not grant reproduction or performance rights.
